What happened?  In a moment from life to death, from intimacy to estrangement, from bliss to dread.  Oh that we, the beloved, might imbibe the last state of our soul as readily as the former.  His grace shines in the latter all the more in the light of our former. Predator and prey each knows
Watchfulness precludes dire woes

Top dog on a nonstop binge

On catching the food will hinge
Life and on offspring impinge

Death comes to all in their time
Decomposers recycle the grime
The world would be full of slime
Life’s web would lose all its rhyme

In and out energy goes
Though inefficient transfer, life grows
From sunlight to plants it flows
Animals, then decompose
